Badi Mushkil Se - Lakhon Mein Ek (1967)

Lakhon Mein Ek (1967) is a classic Pakistani film based on the theme of Hindu- Muslim love story. A great strength of the film was its songs. The entire soundtrack is studded with great melodies. This particular composition seems to be sung and composed straight from the heart when love crosses all barriers, even religious ones to unite. The lyrics are simple and yet the song elicits the complex interplay of happiness of union on one hand, and the insecurity pertaining to future of a relationship that is in opposition to societal norms. The sitar pieces, essential characteristics of Bazmi's compositions are superb in this song. Noor Jehan is in great form often escalating her voice to great heights in the entire soundtrack.
