Maine Har Kaanta Teri Raah Ka - Tarannum Series Ghazal

I like this song a lot. What makes it superb is that it comes straight from heart- Khwaja Pervez failed in love and then wrote this song. He kept it a secret never giving it away for any film, until Noor Jehan raided his house for a good ghazal when she was recording Tarannum. He was so fond of Noor Jehan that he could not refuse her.
Thanks so much Pulkit for the lyrics and the beautiful story behind it. Well no wonder he gave it to Madam--the gamut of emotions conveyed all in a breeze as it were. I think i mentioned this on sks--I love this song and I tried to copy each little note that Madam takes--now I am not a singer but even then when I sang it I realised Madam ki lakh copy karo the soul is not there. The greatness of her music lies in the combination of good powerful voice enhanced by training and the ability to understand and feel what she is singing. of hurt and rejection, self realisation in maine rakha hai fakat apni mohabbat ka bharam and a bit of pained mockery at the shallowness of the loved one and while conveying all these emotions all in a matter of seconds, her voice going soft, hard according to the emotion, she manages to get all that power into varna harjaee tere pyaar mein kya rakha hai!! Who but Madam could perform such a feat--all in a day's work for her. Even writing it out makes one breathless at the thought of emoting and the strain of singing but she does it just like that!!!!
